Something about me!

My name is Matevž Komočar and I’m an industrial designer and mountain bike enthusiast. Riding bikes has been my passion for over a decade and I have always wanted to merge my passion with my profession. I’ve had the opportunity to study industrial design in Slovenia, Norway and Finland. Apart from my studies I also worked in design and production at local bicycle component manufacturers.

Living in Nordic countries has inspired me to design my product in a holistic manner. From the basic materials to product manufacturing and also and the products end-of-life responsibility. Simple design isn’t a feature – it’s a necessity.

My aim with ålt bike studio is to bring quality components to various riders. Riders should enjoy good design – functional and aesthetical.

Goals:

01

Offer alternative components.

Doing things differently means creating bespoke components that stand apart from the mainstream — designing and building alternative products for alternative riders.

02

Quality over quantity

Focusing on long-lasting, reliable components means creating durable products that remain functional and timeless, reducing waste and promoting sustainability.

03

Responsible manufacturing

Sourcing local materials and manufacturing on demand supports the local economy while reducing environmental impact. Bespoke, made-to-order production minimizes overproduction and promotes responsible use of materials.

04

Building community

Seeking genuine relationship with riders & clients on a local and global level. The aim is to invest in local riders, riding infrastructure, trail networks , bike shops etc. to further develop the sport.
